I was tagged by Jen to do this meme... I found it quite hard to actually remember what books I've read, which wasn't so helpful!
Rules: Don't take too long to think about it. Fifteen books you've read that will always stick with you. First fifteen you can recall in no more than 15 minutes. Tag friends.
MARIGOLD'S DISCLAIMER: These are books that I still think about a long time after reading them - I'm not guaranteeing quality here!
Because I hate the idea that anyone will work out how I think, I've also jumbled them up so they're not in any particular order.
1. Brideshead Revisited; Evelyn Waugh
2. Mere Christianity; C.S. Lewis
3. The Earth, My Butt, And Other Big Round Things; Carolyn Mackler
4. I'll Take You There; Joyce Carol Oates
5. American Pastoral; Philip Roth
6. The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell; Marilyn Manson
7. We Need To Talk About Kevin; Lionel Shriver
8. Det Jag Inte Säger; Katja Timgren
9. The Jesus Dynasty; James Tabor
10. Pelagia And The Black Monk; Boris Akunin
11. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows; J.K. Rowling
12. The B.F.G.; Roald Dahl
13. The Surgeon; Tess Gerritsen

I'm just taking a short break from the hysteria of a multi-family evening to recharge my batteries. I feel like I refer to it enough to warrant tattooing the URL on my forehead, but today's post over at Conversion Diary - or rather, an old post that was linked to in today's post - blew me away with the resemblance it bears to something I wrote privately VERY recently. (And a choice quote from a cross-cross-posted post: "Am I really surprised that I don't feel in touch with God when the closest thing I've said to a prayer in the past 24 hours was blurting out the Lord's name when Robert Best got kicked off Project Runway?" Lol.)
Anyway, things have picked up here. I've decided to let myself feel tired and let myself need alone time, instead of battling it. And, surprise surprise, things are much more enjoyable. In fact, it's hard to believe there are only two and a half days left until - savour the sweetness of the word - home. Even as I'm letting go of tension and starting to live in the moment, no matter how Swedish that moment is, I'm still homesick to a weird degree.
